ChartsWatcher is a configurable U.S. stock scanning workspace. Arrange alert windows, ranked lists, charts and research panels around the way you review the market.
Keep a broad market view on one screen and a more focused setup on another. Linking windows by symbol helps you move from a candidate to its chart and available news without repeatedly entering the ticker.
For a practical first layout, put the alert stream beside a chart, then keep a news panel and watchlist close by. Add complexity only when it answers a specific question.

The screener asks which stocks meet your conditions. The alert asks when a defined event occurs. Combining the two makes a broad market easier to review.
Combine price, volume, float, volatility and other filters, then sort the resulting list by the metric you want to compare. Choose the visible columns and their colors.
The filter catalogue covers gaps and session changes, moving-average distances, VWAP, relative volume, share structure and company events. Check the definition of each metric before combining it with another.

Monitor defined triggers such as an opening-range break, unusual volume, a VWAP event, a candle pattern, a new headline or a trading halt.
Filters determine which stocks qualify for those alerts. Several strategies can share a window, with configurable columns plus audio and visual notifications to help you recognise what fired.

The reference is the first regular-session candle on the selected interval. A five-minute opening range is different from a fifteen-minute opening range; match the chart to the alert setting when you inspect the break.
Compares the current candle volume with the average of the preceding ten candles on the chosen interval. It highlights a change against recent activity; it is not a comparison with a whole typical trading day.
Adds a large-candle condition to a move through VWAP. This differs from an ordinary crossing alert. Check the direction and surrounding candles before interpreting the event.
The ChartsWatcher Desktop Connector sends a selected symbol to supported external platforms. You can continue your review in the charting or trading tools you already use and choose which integrations receive symbol requests.
This is especially useful when ChartsWatcher is your discovery screen and another platform is where you examine the candidate in detail.

Select a candidate from your scanning workflow.
Use the installed Desktop Connector and enable the integrations you need.
Send the symbol to a supported platform and continue your assessment there.
Official clarification on linking and historical alert review (paid link)
Switch timeframes, inspect price action and locate an alert in its chart context. The official interface shows drawing tools, volume, EMA and VWAP overlays.
10-second candles are available with Advanced and Pro. Candle duration describes the chart interval; the separate refresh setting describes how often the chart updates.

Mark an individual price level and create a crossing-above or crossing-below alert. A dedicated panel lets you review, pause, edit or remove those alerts.
These personal price-level alerts are listed for Pro. They are distinct from the configurable scanner alert types described above.

Keep the reason for your interest close to the numbers you are watching.
A dedicated stock-news window keeps articles for the selected company together. Keyword search helps you narrow the reading to a topic.

Follow headlines across the market with keyword tags, filters and stock-data columns. A headline is a lead: open the underlying release or filing before treating it as confirmation.

Give selected candidates a permanent place in the dashboard. Choose and sort the data columns to support your own review sequence.

Bring company details and market statistics into a dedicated panel. This keeps the selected symbol’s profile available alongside its chart.

Run an alert configuration against past market activity, choose a review window and examine the matches beside the chart. This helps you see what your rules actually captured.
Historical alert review alone does not establish trading performance. Entry and exit rules, fills, fees and slippage require their own assumptions.

Explore community scan and dashboard configurations, then adapt the criteria to your own research routine.
A template is a starting point to inspect. Review its filters and alert definitions before relying on it. Configuration import and export are listed for Advanced and Pro.

For users who want to work outside the dashboard, ChartsWatcher documents two routes for alert and toplist data.
Receive live alert and toplist data for your personal workflow.
Access historical alert and toplist data.
Access is for personal use only; redistribution is not permitted. Review account access details before building an integration.
The Free plan lets you explore the workspace. Paid plans increase configuration limits and unlock selected tools. The distinction is capacity and features, as well as chart refresh.

A suggested learning sequence from Merlintrader, not a trading strategy or a promise of results.
Create your account and explore a simple dashboard before deciding which extra capacity matters.
Choose the session and a few filters you can explain. Price, activity and float answer different questions.
Start with a clear event, then check its definition, timeframe and qualifying conditions.
Keep a chart, available news and your watchlist beside the results so each alert has context.
Use the replay access available on your plan. Inspect both useful matches and the noise you want to reduce.
If you need it, check the Desktop Connector setup for your platform and test the symbol transfer.
Yes. The platform’s configuration tools let you choose alerts, filters, columns and colors. API access is a separate option for custom workflows.
No single assumption covers all alerts. Each official guide states its supported sessions and options. Opening-range breakout, for example, is defined around the regular-session opening candle.
No. A recent-candle comparison and a same-time session comparison use different baselines. Read the metric definition before choosing thresholds or comparing numbers.
The main scanning workspace runs in the browser. External symbol linking uses the separate Desktop Connector and remains in beta.
ChartsWatcher is presented as a scanning and analysis workspace. External linking transfers symbols to supported tools; it is not a documented automatic order-execution service.
