It distinguishes operating cash from vehicle renewal, corporate debt from fleet ABS, and consolidated earnings from shareholder economics, while tracing the Pentwater settlement, seasonal capacity reductions and the Waymo operating relationship.
$UBERResearch as of October 29, 2026PDF · 14 pages
Uber: marketplace economics, cash-flow boundaries and the cost of expansion
Examines how Mobility, Delivery and Freight convert marketplace activity into recognized revenue, operating earnings and cash. The report separates investment gains, stock compensation, insurance reserves and restricted collateral from the resources available for capital allocation. Delivery Hero conditions, ezCater and other acquisitions, autonomous partnerships, debt refinancing, exchangeable instruments and repurchases show how network expansion can change financing needs and retained value even while operating cash generation improves.
$RCLResearch as of October 29, 2026PDF · 14 pages
Royal Caribbean: cruise demand and sandals
The report follows the cruise business from bookings and customer deposits to ship investment, financing obligations and cash remaining for shareholders. It examines the conditional Sandals and Beaches investment, destination expansion, debt and capital returns, preserving June detailed analysis alongside the later third-quarter update.
$NCLHResearch as of October 29, 2026PDF · 17 pages
Norwegian Cruise Line: yield, refinancing and the fleet funding burden
Examines Norwegian, Oceania and Regent as one capital-intensive cruise group, connecting capacity, occupancy and yields with quarterly operating results. September refinancing, the October notes closing and raised annual outlook are assessed against cash flow, debt service, liquidity and extensive ship commitments. Fleet additions, destination projects, fuel and geopolitical exposure frame the question of whether stronger revenue can support durable deleveraging after investment.

A dated review of rental and fleet economics, results, cash and corporate liquidity, vehicle and non-vehicle debt, ABS and exchangeable financing, Oro Mobility, dilution, litigation and operating risks.

Hyatt: hotel growth, distribution and capital returns
The archive examines Hyatt’s hotel-fee model, all-inclusive exposure and Distribution segment alongside the third-quarter outlook. $AALResearch as of October 29, 2026PDF · 16 pages
American Airlines: network growth, fuel economics and balance-sheet limits

June financial statements connect record revenue with fuel pressure, narrow margins, liquidity facilities, debt, aircraft commitments and equity capacity, while later dated news includes the third-quarter loss and Azul warrant investment. Scenarios distinguish stronger customer demand from sustainable cash generation and the regulatory and operating work required to turn partnerships into returns.
$UALResearch as of October 28, 2026PDF · 16 pages
United Airlines: revenue quality, fleet renewal and financing pressure
Archived research examines premium demand, fuel recovery and the relationship between revenue growth and airline margins. Carnival: cruise demand, fuel, cash generation and the debt reduction test
Follows Carnival’s bookings and passenger yields through operating costs, customer deposits, cash generation and ship investment. The August results separate stronger revenue from the financing effects on net income and examine fuel exposure, efficiency and the assumptions behind guidance. Debt maturities, unsecured refinancing, fleet additions, destinations, rewards accounting, buybacks and dividends show how operating improvement must support both investment and shareholder returns without obscuring the remaining financial obligations.
$MARResearch as of October 21, 2026PDF · 14 pages
Marriott: hotel fees, debt, room growth and shareholder distributions
The archived report traces Marriott’s franchise and management fees from hotel demand to cash available for investment and capital returns. Debt maturities, aircraft commitments, international partnerships, labor obligations and shareholder distributions frame the cash required to turn service advantages into durable financial returns.

Travel, Airlines, Cruise, Mobility & Hotel Stock Hubs. The market research side of the Travel Pub has its own company directory, built on the same model as the Biotech, Space and Energy indexes. Each Hub carries its own update date. Airlines, cruise lines, mobility companies and the first three listed hotel groups are available now; booking platforms will follow as their Hubs are published.
The travel section of Merlintrader is a market-research directory: one Stock Hub per listed company, covering balance sheet, debt, capacity, pricing, earnings dates and sector catalysts across airlines, cruise lines, hotel groups, car rental and mobility.

Twelve company Hubs are live: $AAL, $DAL, $UAL, $CCL, $NCLH, $RCL, $HTZ, $CAR, $HLT, $MAR, $H and $UBER. Each one carries its own verification date and follows the same structure used in the Biotech, Space and Energy indexes.
Travel and leisure is one of the most cyclical parts of the listed market. Demand moves with disposable income, fuel and fleet costs move with commodities, capacity decisions are taken years in advance, and the same booking that fills a seat also fills a hotel room and a rental car. That chain is what this index follows.
Every company covered here has its own Stock Hub: a single page that gathers the reported numbers, the capital structure, the operating metrics that matter for that specific business model, the scheduled earnings dates and the risks disclosed in the filings. The directory at the top of this page links to all twelve company Stock Hubs.
The material is descriptive research. It reports what companies have disclosed and what the filings show, without ranking the stocks, without price targets and without buy or sell language.

What a Travel Stock Hub contains
The structure is the same across the whole index, so two companies in the same sub-sector can be read side by side without translating one page into the other.
- Snapshot: exchange, share count, market capitalisation and the balance-sheet items behind it.
- Financial position: cash, gross and net debt, maturities, covenants, interest cost and free cash flow.
- Operating metrics specific to the business model: load factor, RevPAR, net yields, fleet utilisation.
- Catalysts: reporting dates, guidance, fleet and capacity decisions, refinancing and capital returns.
- Risks and red flags: dilution history, leverage, cyclicality, fuel and labour exposure, competition.
- Sources: SEC filings and company press releases, linked so every figure can be checked.
An operator’s lens on the numbers
The research on this index is written by Merlintrader. The background behind it is thirty years inside the travel industry as a licensed Technical Director of a travel agency, registered in the Umbria regional list under N.136, decree of 25 September 2002 no. 8392.
That background is used for one thing only: reading the operating side of these companies with some idea of how the business actually works. Why a load factor can rise while yields fall, why a hotel pipeline signed today shows up in fees years later, why residual values decide whether a rental fleet is an asset or a liability. It changes how the numbers are interpreted, not what the numbers say.
Everything published here is market research and educational content. It contains no personalised advice of any kind, financial or otherwise.
Alongside the single-company Hubs, the index carries comparative reports that put the main names of a sub-sector against the same set of metrics.

Start from the ticker
The directory at the top of this page searches by symbol or company name and opens the corresponding Hub directly. Each entry shows when it was last verified against primary sources.
Compare inside a sub-sector
Airlines against airlines, cruise operators against cruise operators. The multi-ticker deep dives apply one common set of metrics so the differences between business models are visible.
Follow the reporting calendar
Travel and leisure is a calendar-driven sector: quarterly results, guidance revisions, capacity announcements and refinancing dates. Each Hub tracks the ones relevant to that company.
What this index is not
It is not a booking service, not a travel agency and not an advisory service. No page here suggests buying or selling a security, and no page sells or arranges travel.
Travel and leisure, read as a market
Twelve company Hubs are live and the index keeps growing as new pages are published. The approach stays the same across the whole site: reported figures, primary sources, disclosed risks, and no recommendations.
Educational and informational note: the content of this page and of the Stock Hubs it links to is market research published for educational and informational purposes only. It is not investment advice, not a personalised recommendation, and not an offer or solicitation to buy or sell any security. Merlintrader is not a registered investment adviser or broker-dealer. Investing in listed equities carries the risk of losing the capital invested, and travel and leisure companies are cyclical and often highly leveraged.
