Where Telesat Corporation stands now

The October 29 update reported C$80.631 million of quarterly revenue and C$47.018 million of loss attributable to corporate shareholders. Customer prepayments of C$509.624 million supported construction during the third quarter.

GEO Term Loan B and secured notes begin maturing in December 2026, with further note maturities in June and October 2027. Management is pursuing a resolution while continuing Lightspeed manufacturing, gateway deployment and terminal integration.

The main risk is that GEO refinancing or litigation changes the value retained in Lightspeed, while construction or integration delays defer service receipts. Segregated funding supports the new network, but the shareholder outcome also depends on creditor claims, partnership interests and financing warrants.

The constructive case

A supportable GEO financing resolution and timely Lightspeed deployment turn government-supported construction into profitable service receipts, with additional customers improving utilization and the existing holders retaining an adequate share of value.

The cautious case

Refinancing, litigation or deployment delays increase creditor claims, defer cash generation or require new economic ownership, reducing common shareholders’ participation even if the technology remains credible.
